Noise monitoring at Cadia and the Cadia Dewatering Facility is managed in accordance with the Noise Management Plan, which was approved by NSW Department of Planning, Housing & Infrastructure in March 2026.
What we monitor
Attended Noise Monitoring - Conducted by acoustic specialist at least once every two months during day, evening, and night periods. Noise levels are measured at representative locations around Cadia and the Cadia Dewatering Facility, known as Noise Management Groups (NMGs).
Road Traffic Noise Monitoring - Road traffic noise is monitored on selected local roads associated with Cadia operations.
Real-Time Continuous Noise Monitoring - Real-time monitoring supports proactive and reactive noise management, automatic alerts are generated allowing operations to be adjusted.
Meteorological Monitoring - We also utilise our on-site weather stations as part of our noise monitoring program.
