Community Partnership Program - How to Apply
Newmont Cadia prides itself on its expansive community support programs. Each year, we provide financial and in-kind support to enhance community groups and organisations in the Blayney, Cabonne and Orange Local Government Areas (LGA's).
Applications are considered through a Community Partnership Program committee, which is comprised of representatives from across our workforce. The committee includes a range of skill sets from operators through to management and is representative of the diverse community in which we live.
Two funding streams are available: Cadia Cares and the Cadia Legacy Fund. Use the guide below to quickly check eligibility, see what we fund, align your project to our Strategic Pillars, and understand how to show community benefit.
You’ll also see why a quick chat with our Social Performance Team can strengthen your application.
Which Stream Should I apply to?
Cadia Cares
Cadia Cares provides support to community groups within Blayney, Cabonne and Orange LGA’s to offset the current impacts of Cadia’s activities and support the economic development of the community. For community projects that deliver practical, near-term outcomes.
Minor funding: up to $5,000 (e.g., one-off equipment or a program delivered within a year).
Major funding: $5,001–$20,000 for projects with clear, longer-term benefit.
Please read the Cadia Cares Guidelines to check your eligibility.
The Cadia Legacy Fund
The Cadia Legacy Fund works in partnership with community representatives to develop and deliver strategic projects which will leave a legacy on the local region (within Blayney, Cabonne or Orange LGA’s) while Cadia continues to operate, and as it reaches mine closure. Projects must demonstrate strategic alignment with government or key stakeholder plans. From $20,000 up to $250,000 (multi-year partnerships may be considered above this level with KPIs).
Please read the Cadia Legacy Fund Guidelines to check your eligibility.
Not sure? A short call with the Social Performance Team will help you choose the right stream, align to the pillars, and avoid common pitfalls.

Testimonial – Donation to Ngurang-gu Yalbilinga Program.
“The gym equipment has not only enhanced the program, it has also enhanced the boys quality of life through exercise and their perceptions on the importance of healthy choices and a healthy lifestyle. It’s support such as Cadia’s that allows the Ngurang-gu Yalbilinya Program to provide lifechanging opportunities for these young Aboriginal men. The generosity of Cadia will go a long way to ensuring the continued success for our community-based Programs.”
Ngurang-gu Yalbilinya Student Support Officer, Mark Polley
