Community Partnerships

Community Partnership Program

At Cadia Valley Operations, Newcrest distributes funding each year to support and enhance community groups and organisations in the Blayney, Cabonne and Orange local government areas.

Our Community Partnership Program offers two funding opportunities – Cadia Cares and the Cadia Legacy Fund.

Cadia Cares provides support to community groups within Blayney, Cabonne and Orange LGA’s to offset the current impacts of Cadia’s activities and support the economic development of the community.  Minor funding of up to $5,000 is available for short-term projects is available, while funding of up to $20,000 is available for projects which can demonstrate long-term benefit to the community.

Please read the Cadia Cares Guidelines to check your eligibility.

To submit an application for Cadia Cares, please click here.  To be eligible for consideration at the September meeting, applications for Cadia Cares need to be completed by Monday 8 November.  Applications submitted after this date will be assessed at the January meeting.

The Cadia Legacy Fund works in partnership with community representatives to develop and deliver strategic projects which will leave a legacy on the local region (within Blayney, Cabonne or Orange LGA’s) while Cadia continues to operate, and as it reaches mine closure.  Funding applications of a minimum of $20,000 will be considered through the Cadia Legacy Fund.  Projects must demonstrate strategic alignment with government or key stakeholder plans.

Please read the Cadia Legacy Fund Guidelines to check your project’s eligibility.  You can then submit an Expression of Interest for the Cadia Legacy Fund.  Please note, this is an expression of interest only and not an application.   Applications for round 1 of the Cadia Legacy Fund close on Monday 25 October 2021.
