Cadia Valley Operations is owned by Newcrest Mining Limited and is one of the largets gold mining operations in Australia. Operations include two underground mines and an ore processing facility.

Tertiary Scholarships

Cadia Valley Operations (Cadia) currently offers Tertiary and Indigenous Scholarships to local secondary school students. To be eligible for a scholarship with Cadia, students must:

  • Live, or have their family home, in the local government areas of Orange, Cabonne or Blayney.
  • Apply for full time study in three or four year undergraduate degree.
  • Plan to study the year they receive the scholarship (the scholarship cannot be deferred).
  • Not already be studying at university.
  • Applicants for the indigenous scholarship must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent.

Scholarship support is $9,000 per year and for the minimum recommended course duration, up to a maximum of four years. The scholarship program is open to all disciplines.  A shortlist of successful applicants will be interviewed by a panel.

Cadia has awarded 18 tertiary scholarships to local students since the program commenced in 2012.
